I use a variety of mediums when I paint to experiment with, take risks, and push myself. I like to play with different color combinations and styles that coexist and dance together on the canvas. At any given time, I may have some oil paintings that I’m working on, several acrylic pieces that I’m taping, layering, and drying as I go, or I may be mixing paint to create fluid art. The overarching theme that connects my abstract paintings are that they tend to include an array of bright colors.
Art is my way of sharing my vulnerabilities, perspectives, and desires with others. Art heals, relaxes, invigorates, inspires, and helps me process the emotions I’m feeling in my daily life. Although I create art to express my own thoughts and creativity, I know that art can also provide healing, happiness, peace and inspiration to others, as other artists’ creations have done for me. I believe art is an ongoing evolutionary process, a visual diary of my experiences that continue to grow and change as I also develop as a human.
